We would like to offer you the possibility of joining a multidisciplinary and inter-university research group, with more than 70 members (including two post-doc Marie Curie fellows that now work with us).

We offer two PhD positions as part of the Innovative Training Networks (ITN), within the framework of the H2020 programme. So, if your main research interests are Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Blockchain, Smart grids and Smart Homes, don't hesitate and apply!

Two positions are offered to develop the Ph.D. studies in the University of Salamanca:

  1. Blockchain applications

Objectives: To develop a benchmarking platform and testbed for testing trusted communications in IoT using the distributed ledger. To optimize the trade-off between the intricateness of the proof of work in blockchain technology and the cost (both computation and monetary) of the transaction.

  1. Smart Grids: Secured management of energy resources

Objectives: To design a collaborative environment able to monitor and measure the energy produced and consumed by different users and create an automated system for the “invoicing” of a balance, resulting from the interaction of the user with this pool of energy.

 

POSITION OUTLINE

The position may be requested by Early-Stage Researchers of any nationality who:

  • Not have resided / carried out their research activity more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the closing date of the call.
  • Do not have a PhD degree.
  • Do not have four years of research experience after obtaining the bachelor's degree
  • Have a master’s degree, or are willing to enroll in a master’s program during the first year of the PhD program. 

 

Nationalities that may apply:

Early Stage Researchers from Europe (EU28 + associated countries)

Early Stage Researchers from outside Europe (America, Asian, Australia, Africa, etc.)

The fellowships last 36 months.

ECONOMIC CONDITIONS

The funding covers, (A) living, (B) mobility and (C*) family allowance:

A) Living allowance (A+B): 32.400 €/year

B) Mobility allowance: 600 €/month

C*) Family (only candidates who are married or have children at the time of recruitment are eligible): 500€/month.
