Commitment to educational excellence is fundamental to the sustainable development and global competitiveness of any nation. The QFORTE project is an innovative initiative aimed at strengthening quality assurance in the Moldovan higher education system. QFORTE aims to contribute to a deeper integration of the country into the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) through significant improvements in the quality of education, based on the implementation of accreditation and quality assurance systems in the Moldovan university system. 

Funded with the support of the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme, the QFORTE project is aligned with the vision of a unified and competitive educational Europe. Recognising the critical importance of educational quality in today's global landscape, this initiative aims to address the challenges and opportunities faced by Moldova on its path to academic excellence.

One of the highlights in the framework of the QFORTE project is the study visit to the University of Leipzig, Germany, which took place from 4 to 6 March 2024 and was attended by our colleagues Marta Plaza and Ana Belén Gil, representing the BISITE Research Group, which is a QFORTE partner. This event provides an invaluable platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences on international institutional accreditation and sustainable development of higher education institutions. During the visit, important topics were discussed, including a reflection on the results of the international institutional evaluation, sustainable development and internationalisation at the University of Leipzig, and lessons learned for the development of the Moldovan higher education system.

Participation in this event not only allows for the acquisition of new knowledge and the exploration of best practices, but also fosters a network of collaboration and support between Moldovan educational institutions and their international counterparts. By promoting a culture of institutional quality and facilitating the exchange of ideas, the QFORTE Project is laying the foundation for a stronger and more prosperous future for higher education in Moldova.
