The BISITE Research Group of the University of Salamanca has built up years of experience in developing research on smart cities, which offer a model based on sustainability, safety, and efficiency, with integrated solutions through the incorporation of effective communication systems. Thanks to the use of technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data and the internet of things, smart cities are a reality on which to base our research.

As a result, the University of Salamanca is co-organising this year's "International Conference on Smart City and Information System" (ICSCIS 2024), an international conference to be held from 15 to 17 March in the state of Penang (Malaysia). The aim is to provide a platform for learning and knowledge exchange between experts and academics in the field, with the main focus on smart city information system technology and design.

The conference will be attended by leading experts from universities around the world, as well as research institutes, academics, and professionals from various companies. Juan Manuel Corchado, Professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at USAL and Director of BISITE, will be the Conference General Chair together with Azlan Mohd Zain, from the Universiti Teknologi of Malaysia. Thus, he will share the space with hundreds of experts from universities in the United States, Canada, Australia, China, India, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom, among other countries, who will share their many innovations in the area of smart cities.

The conference will be organised by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia and the Xi'an University of Technology and Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications in China. More information about the event on the website.
