Nowadays, many sectors use the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm. We often fail to notice the fact that the majority of the items we buy can be connected to internet, these items will generate a large amount of information, which may be used to carry out behaviour and habit studies or for future inventions.

One valuable feature of IoT is that it can be combined with other technologies, such as artificial intelligence or robotics, to obtain better results or more accurate data.

This technology can provide big benefits and solutions to the problems of today’s society, it for example helps to cover the shortfalls in the health sector. Even areas like farming, which have been sceptical of the world of technology, are now experiencing significant changes thanks to information which allows to design solutions that meet their needs.

According to the estimates of Juniper Research, by 2020 there will be 50.000 million IoT connections, generating an extensive amount of information that will help create important advances in different fields. However, according the latest Canonical study, 68% of businesses experience difficulties in finding professionals with this profile.

For this reason, the BISITE Research Group, together with the University of Salamanca, have designed a title that will provide training to future specialists in this area. The Master’s and Expert’s  Degrees in the Internet of Things, will teach students about IoT applications, Smart cities, Intelligent Buildings, Data Science and much more.

Students will have the opportunity to learn directly from best professionals, including Javier García Puga, Telefónica’s Head of Technology, Alberto López Martín  General Manager and Principal Engineer in SIDISEL , Javier Prieto  USAL’s Innovation Manager and Fernando De la Prieta and Pablo Chamoso, Researchers from our group who lead big projects related to AI, IoT and Big data.  

In conclusion, our students will learn by the side of specialists in the field, who will provide them with all they need to become competent employees in an important sector.
