Our BISITE Marie Curie research fellow, Denisa Kera, was invited by the University of Bremen (Universitat Bremen, Germany), Media and Communication Studies at the ZeMKI (Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research), to present her research on the maker movement as part of a workshop on "Pioneer Communities - Drivers of deep mediatization after the Whole Earth Network".
She also presented her research on the governance of blockchain at the international “DATA POWER”. global in/securities” conference that followed the workshop.
The conference focuses on critical issues pertaining to the power of data and algorithmic governance; its core event was a discussion on the social and cultural effects of those developments on the relations between the Global North and the Global South.
