BISITE will take part in the Summer of Code in Space (SOCIS) program organized by the European Space Agency that focuses on bringing student developers into open source software development for space applications.

The creative and design driven research into blockchain and satellite-driven smart contracts was selected by ESA SOCIS as one of the supported projects from 64 proposals.

Several students from China, India and the US expressed interest to volunteer, and one student from India will get funding to work with BISITE on open APIs for using Sentinel 2A and B data and explore their use for smart contracts related to land-art, pollution management and various near future scenarios.

BISITE Marie Curie research fellow,  Denisa Kera, with colleagues from the art and science organization SciArt based in Prague, will mentor their efforts.
