As a result of constant technological change, the effectiveness of traditional project management methods has diminished. For this reason, alternative management techniques have been designed which are more suited to today's context and can achieve more optimal results.

A good idea for a project is not enough, it is necessary to follow a plan and establish parameters that will ensure the success of the entire manufacturing or creation process. Numerous factors must be considered in order to complete a product or a service, including the development team, the available resources, the time required and the methodology to apply.

If any of these parts fail, it is likely that the end result will be affected. Although the responsibility borne by Information and Communication Technology (ICT) professionals is large, they can enjoy ample employment opportunities in companies, as leaders of big projects.

The main focus of recent innovations is customer satisfaction. The greater the commitment to customer satisfaction during the creation process, the better the result, as it is possible to detect failures in time or make changes without investing a lot of money. These and many other skills derive from the Scrum methodology taught as part of our Information Systems Management training program. In addition, the students of this program will have the opportunity to acquire creative thinking and leadership skills and will receive the training required to obtain the PMI Certifications (PMP and CAPM), which are considered the most important certifications worldwide for project managers. A holder of such certificate is guaranteed to have the knowledge required to manage small- and large-scale projects.

If you decide to specialize in this area, either with an expert or a master's degree, you will be able to apply for higher positions related to ICT project management, geared towards the implementation and development of technological projects. Some of the roles that graduates will be able to fulfil:

  • Design and draft technology-related projects, complying with quality standards.
  • Lead and manage projects within an organization.
  • Director of the Project Management Office (PMO)
  • Program Manager
  • Director of Innovation in product and business development processes.
  • Director of Programs and Portfolio.
  • Departments of Information Systems.
  • Incorporation to Production and Exploitation departments.

These are some of the professional opportunities that you will be able to opt for after completing your training at the University of Salamanca with the BISITE Research Group, together with large companies such as Telefónica, Indra, Viewnext and more. Seize the opportunity and enrol!
