Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), have become an everyday element of our society, aiding businesses in the development of their strategies. The University of Salamanca and our BISITE Group, have introduced a degree targeted at ICT professionals. The Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems teaches students to manage the tools that they will need to direct ICT projects, successfully expanding their employment opportunities.

The first module studied by the students of this degree concerned technology and business, it was delivered by IBM’s Business Development Manager Enrique Diaz Plaza, quite a specialist in the field. Throughout the course he will share his experience and knowledge of many areas, including economy, internet and globalization, finances, human resource management through ICTs.

The demand for those skills is on the rise. The European Commission estimates that in 2020 there will be more than 500 thousand vacancies for ICT specialists. Organizations demand qualified professionals, capable of working with new systems and providing ideas that will improve the established working techniques.

ICT specialists must have a broad understanding of the company. They must choose the technologies that most adapt to its needs and have knowledge of information control, human resources, legal aspects and marketing. In other words, if a student is aspiring to work as Director of Technological Projects, Director of Innovation and Technology, or Researcher in Information Systems and Technologies, in the future, they must attain global knowledge of how organisations function.
