The International Chair in Blockchain for Cybersecurity, 'CyberChain', played a key role in coordinating the joint cybersecurity event between the University of Salamanca and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT). The event was held on 19th and 20th December 2024 at the Colegio Arzobispo Fonseca in Salamanca, bringing together numerous experts in areas such as cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

The company 3D Research S.r.l continues to foster professional and academic exchange with the BISITE Research Group from the University of Salamanca through a collaboration agreement derived from the TECTONIC project, funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 programme.

The Technology Fair at the University of Salamanca (USAL), now in its second edition, has brought together students, businesses, and researchers in a space designed to foster collaboration and create new professional opportunities.

Following the success of the first edition, the International Chair in Blockchain for Cybersecurity, CyberChain, coordinated by the University of Salamanca, INCIBE, and BISITE, is once again offering the free online course "Skills in the Use of Blockchain Technology", now available on the e4you platform via this link.

Drawing on his experience as a senior expert in electoral crime and his involvement with the Venice Commission, Dr. José Luis Vargas conducted a study on how AI can voluntarily and involuntarily affect democratic processes, noting that it has only been implemented in a small number of countries with democratic systems.

Organised by QETEL, this event presented the paper “Reverse Quantum Annealing Approach to Portfolio Optimisation Problems,” which allowed for an in-depth exploration of adiabatic quantum computing and portfolio optimisation, considering its potential applications in the field of finance and the challenges faced by society today.

The course, "Blockchain, Self-Sovereign Identities, and Legal Aspects," coordinated by the University of Salamanca, INCIBE, and BISITE, attracted nearly 400 participants in its previous edition.

From the BISITE Research Group of the University of Salamanca, we are delighted to share our recent participation in the V White Paper Congress for the Development of Salamanca. This congress brought together experts, institutions and companies committed to sustainable development and innovation in technologies.

Under the title "SecurSentry and VIG-IA: Advances in Cyberattack Prevention," the Cyberchain Chair presented the key workstreams of these two projects, which converge on the implementation of artificial intelligence in security actions to detect cyber threats.

Alfonso González Briones, a member of BISITE and full professor in the Department of Computer Science and Automation at the University of Salamanca (USAL), gave several presentations at the University of Chile to explore collaborations in artificial intelligence and foster synergies between academic institutions.
