The BISITE Group, the Santa María la Real Foundation, and SIGMADOS will work on developing a technological tool for the conservation of cultural heritage that contributes to sustainable, accessible, and safe tourism, especially in the field of culture.

The BISITE research group is participating in this initiative alongside the Santa María la Real Foundation, which will contribute its expertise in heritage conservation, particularly in the validation of technological solutions in real environments through the implementation of methodologies that promote the sustainable use of heritage assets. SIGMADOS is also part of this project, contributing its knowledge in applied research and technologies that contribute to the conservation of cultural heritage.

First meeting of the ArchAIca project

ArchAIca will develop a new preventive conservation model based on the continuous monitoring of historic buildings using IoT sensors, advanced data analysis, and artificial intelligence. The project incorporates 3D modeling, mathematical models, and explainable AI techniques for early risk detection and predictive maintenance, allowing damage to be anticipated and improving the efficiency of conservation actions.

In addition, DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) technologies are integrated to ensure data traceability and security, as well as gamification strategies aimed at dissemination and citizen participation.

From a tourism perspective, the project will apply these innovations to the development of more sustainable cultural tourism models, promoting heritage preservation and improving the experience of visitors and managers.

The project has a budget of €933,604, of which 25% is a grant and the rest is a loan, support obtained thanks to the call for Public-Private Partnership Projects by the State Research Agency.
