Job summary

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing projects to ensure that objectives are met within agreed deadlines, budget, and quality standards. Their duties include defining the project scope, allocating resources, managing the team, and facilitating communication among stakeholders. Additionally, they identify risks, resolve issues, and monitor project progress, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure success.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Project Planning: Basic tasks involving cost estimation and assessment, defining scope, objectives, and deliverables. 
  • Create a detailed project plan with timelines and allocated resources, acting under direct orders from a superior.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that resources (human, financial, and material) are available and used efficiently.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation plans to minimise their impact.
  • Quality Management: Ensure that deliverables meet established administrative standards. Implement processes to maintain quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitoring and Control: Oversee project progress in relation to timelines and budget, on an annual basis. Adjust plans in response to changes or issues as they arise.
  • Project Completion: Ensure objectives are met and deliverables are completed. Conduct a final evaluation and document lessons learned.

Experience

  • Essential
    • Use of Project Management Tools: Experience with tools such as Office, especially Excel.
  • Desirable
    • Project Management Experience: Having managed projects of similar size and complexity, handling budgets and managing schedules.
    • Team Management Experience: Having coordinated cross-functional teams, either in on-site or virtual roles.
Skills
  • Organised: Able to plan and coordinate multiple tasks and resources, managing time to meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective Communication: Able to convey information smoothly between economic, managerial, and technical teams, providing regular updates on project progress.
  • Analytical: Quick to identify issues and find effective solutions.
  • Adaptable: Flexible when facing project changes and able to adjust plans as necessary.
  • Detail-Oriented: Thorough and ensures all aspects of the project are managed correctly.
  • Resilient: Maintains composure and makes effective decisions under pressure or tight deadlines.
