The project funded by the Deputation of Salamanca is a collaboration between the Livestock Ángel Santiago García Martín and the BISITE research group. The main objective of the project is to develop a platform to solve certain problems detected in cattle.

This project which began in 2015 with a budget of €10.000, will last one year and is located in La Fuente de San Esteban, where we already have deployments of previous projects, conducted by the research group, which help to cover the implantation of the platform. Specifically we have a Wi-Fi network and a Smart Village project that allow to save energy costs

The platform is suitable for monitoring cattle. It allows to retrieve, process and display information. The platform, which is structured in a layered architecture, manages information intelligently through various algorithms. The collection of information is done through various hardware components such as cameras, Wi-Fi networks and different types of sensors (volumetric, radio frequency, temperature, humidity, etc.) that monitor the animals and allow detect problems with feeding or detect estrus from animal to analyze patterns of behavior. The behavior patterns are detected by applying fusion techniques of information based on Artificial lntelligence and machine learning techniques that enable automatic processing of information.

The analyzed information is presented in a web system remotely to company owners and prospective buyers, since they can make a detailed tracking of animals intended for sale. Among the fields of public access, plus animals intended for sale, will, among others, the work program, where the health system in the farm carried out by the Zoetis company  be explained, selection and breeding, reproduction, feeding and farm management, etc. Within the private access, the farmer will have access to birth control section, estrus control and to the food and water control.
