The International Council for Educational Media (ICEM) 2024 has come to an end, and for three days, has turned Salamanca and its University into a point to be taken into account in educational innovation and technology applied to media.

From BISITE, as organisers of the congress, we would like to express our most sincere thanks to all those who have made this meeting possible. Under the slogan ‘Tech Awakening of Intelligence for Education and Media’, ICEM 2024 has been a space for reflection, learning and debate on the transformative impact of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality, on the future of education and media.

We would like to highlight the commitment and quality of all the speakers who, from different parts of the world, travelled to Salamanca to share their knowledge and experience, and we would also like to extend our thanks to those speakers who connected virtually via Zoom to give their talks.

Thanks to all of them, we have been able to enjoy first class lectures and workshops, which have allowed us to explore new ways of integrating technology in education and content creation.

The University of Salamanca has reaffirmed its commitment to research and education by hosting this meeting in two of its emblematic venues: the historic Fonseca College and the modern Multipurpose R&D&I Building. These settings have provided a unique environment that has enriched the experience of all attendees, making this congress a memorable event.

In addition, during the ICEM, children played a prominent role in the Media Festival. Throughout the three-day event, they had the opportunity to present their projects and share them with all attendees, demonstrating their creativity and innovation in an international environment.

  • Looking to the future

If there is one thing we have learned over the past few days, it is that the future of education and media is full of possibilities. Artificial intelligence, data analytics and extended reality are emerging as key tools to transform the way we learn, teach and consume content.

See you at the next edition of ICEM!
