CIBERIA members met to analyse the progress achieved during the previous months of project implementation and to determine the actions to be taken in the coming period. These initiatives seek to promote a more attractive and competitive territory in the development of reliable cybersecurity solutions.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the 11 partners from Castilla y León and Central Portugal that make up this project: University of Salamanca (USAL), University of León (ULE), the CIDAUT Foundation, the Scientific Park of the University of Salamanca, the Artificial Intelligence Centre (AIR INSTITUTE), the Supercomputing Centre of Castilla y León (SCAYLE), the Universsity of Biera Interior (UBI), the Guarda Polytechnic Institute, the Intermunicipal community of Bieras and Sierra da Estrela (CIM-BSE) and Secure Networks, IT consultancy.

The training of organisations and advice on cybersecurity were two of the topics addressed at the meeting, which discussed the upcoming cybersecurity training programmes to be offered by CIBERIA to the public in the region of Castilla y León and central Portugal. In addition, among many activities, participants worked on the plan for the mapping of existing needs in terms of cybersecurity and on the upcoming scientific-technical conferences on cybersecurity and training and re-qualification of assets for public administration bodies and SMEs. Furthermore, cybersecurity awareness activities were planned: podcasts and short cybersecurity pills to raise awareness and educate citizens. System administrators and other relevant actors were also trained in the acquisition and management of these tools.

Through the diverse actions promoted by this project, the digital transition of SMEs and public services that are closely linked to the area of cybersecurity and are governed by the European Regulation in this area is expected to become viable.

The project "CIBERIA - Digitalisation and cross-border resilience through the promotion of a cybersecure CENCYL area" is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), in the framework of the Interreg VI-A Spain - Portugal POCTEP 2021-2027 programme, and focuses on promoting economic growth and the development of new solutions in the digital field, mainly in the area of cybersecurity and the digital transition process of cross-border companies between both countries.
