Sebastián López Flórez is a PhD researcher at the BISITE group. He also participates in the IoTalentum project with a Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant. Within the project he develops tasks related to smart grids, so he has taken the opportunity to carry out a research stay in the company Energía Simple located in Oporto, Portugal to further explore this field.

Sebastián is a mechatronics engineer and has completed a master's degree in electrical engineering with his final project focused on computer vision for scene detection based on object semantics. He earned both degrees at the Pereira Technological University (UTP).

According to the IoTalentum Assignment plan of activities to be carried out by the ESR at the host institution, the aim is to develop a two-level multi-objective optimisation framework for dynamic maintenance planning of active distribution networks in the presence of energy storage systems related to the estimation of consumption profiles.

During the next four months he will collaborate in Energia Simples under the supervision of the CEO, Manuel Azevedo. During the first period, he will update us on the latest trends happening in the area of smart grids. He will also raise additional problems that are likely to be tackled with artificial intelligence.
