The Surveying & MARiTime internet of thingS EducAtion (SMARTSEA) project aims to develop a certified, interactive and advanced master's degree related to maritime IoT and surveying applications. The master will empower learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to work in the growing Smart Maritime & Surveying industry.

The course meets ECTS credit standards and is therefore recognised in all member countries of the European Union. In its program, competence and entrepreneurship are across the board.

The SMARTSEA programme has a total of 40 scholarships to offer in the academic year, from October 2021 to June 2022. Erasmus+ scholarships can be offered to students from any EU region and at least 5 to students from all over the world.

Those interested in participating should have a basic technical background in (the marine, electronics, electricity, IT or mechanics). Also, university students who have obtained a similar degree or professionals with at least 5 years of work experience.

About the programme

The curriculum involves interactive teaching methods and partnerships with expert academic and maritime organisations to provide students with a solid foundation for a successful career in the industry.

The duration of the course is 8 months, plus one month of maritime work experience and 2 mobility periods. Students and educators from one university will move to the other and vice versa, to work in big laboratories, while a third period is reserved for on-the-job maritime training.

Students wishing to apply for the Master's degree can do so by filling in a short online form. After submitting their application, a counsellor will review their details and will contact the applicant to help them complete the full application.
